How to patch test new skincare
A simple two-day check before you put something new on your face.

Five minutes now can save a week of irritated skin.
How
- Apply a small amount to clean skin on your inner arm or just behind the ear.
- Leave it on and don't wash the area for 24 hours, ideally 48.
- Check for redness, itching, burning or swelling.
- No reaction? Try it on a small area of your face before using it everywhere.
Good to know
A patch test can't predict everything, especially with exfoliating acids, which can tingle at first. If you have a known allergy, check the full ingredient list (INCI) on the product page before buying. If you have a skin condition, ask a dermatologist.
